Each roster's needs are computed the same way the Trade Calculator computes yours: for every position, how many startable-quality players (positive VORP) it has compared to how many starter slots it actually needs to fill, accounting for FLEX/Superflex eligibility. That gives every team a per-position multiplier: thin positions score above 1x, stacked positions score below 1x.

A trade only gets suggested when it makes sense for both rosters: the player you'd send should come from a position you're stacked at (or one they're thin at), and the player you'd receive should fill a position you're thin at (or one they're stacked at). Suggestions are ranked by how well they satisfy both sides, then by how close the raw Edge Score value is to a fair, even swap.

Market ADP is used as a secondary bonus, not the main signal: a suggestion gets a small boost when the player you'd receive is also one the market undervalues relative to the model (positive adp_value), since that's a sign their current owner may not realize what they're giving up.
